Hi all,
I've been reading up on Genesis, and I'm curious: how do the Christians out there feel about the story of creation? Do you know who wrote it and how they came about this knowledge? It's all very peculiar to me how we can have the story of creation in the bible, when nobody was around to see or verify it.
The story tells us what happened on the first day, the second day, the third day etc, it seems such extraordinary detail that isn't particularly questioned. From my understanding the man known as Jesus never left any texts or documents as such.
Thoughts?

Another thought from me!

It seems pretty clear to me in Genesis that Cain's wife was either:
1) not human,
2) human but created separately from Adam and Eve

Has anybody else thought this? Go read Genesis (King James version) and try to tell me that it's not patently clear that there is an allusion to a group of people on the east of Eden. Further to that implication, Cain runs off and knocks up a chick, has kids etc, and *then* we are told:

Quote:
25 And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

Bible passage

This seems to clearly state that Adam and Even only have three children at this point in time! (not counting poor Abel, whome Cain killed. And curiously, we're not really told what happened between Cain and Abel. Obviously Cain was jealous, but to kill his brother over such a dispute? Why would God not show them equal love for their attempts to appease him instead of showing favouritism? Does God find sheep and cows more satisfying to his taste buds than fruit and veg? What an arsehat!)
Well how can this be that Cain has a family with kids already, unless Cain's wife was either created seperately by God or is not human as such.

All thoughts welcome!
