Wasn't very sure where to put this so here it goes.

Humans are born to war. We live for war. Walk in to a playground and children arn't playing peace, they are going 'bang, bang'.
Even in latter life people watch boxing, football etc which are all mearly substitutes for war. At the slightest provocation we resourt to violence which is why I conclude humanity will always fight wars, it is in our blood, our reasons for war mearly change.
What do you think? Is war eternal?
No, I think actual wars come from greed. It is in our nature to compete with each other but not to kill. Maybe its just wishful thinking though.
Sports are like war?

Are you saying any sort of competition is war?

If I play chess will I need to order 50 tanks to plow over my friends house?

I think not.

War has many causes. War has many results. War is nothing more than a conflict. In case you didn't know, very many species causes conflicts between eachother.

The only difference is we have the brains and the imagination to do it bigger.
Your point is dismissed by the fact that there are very staunch anti-war people (like myself) in the world. Whether they are right or wrong about certain wars does not omit them from actually existing. If humans are "born to" something, we cannot live without it. We are born to breath, born to eat, born to drink. War is not an essential thing for every human.

I think wars have a benifit.

We always distance ourselves from other people. But when trouble starts we join together because we have a common goal.

Sort of like two people who hate eachother have to carry a bag filled with rocks up a mountain. The goal is that they cannot carry it themselves but together they'll succeed.

'If I play chess will I need to order 50 tanks to plow over my friends house?'

I used a simmily. Chess is a substitut for war, where as flatining your freinds house would be actual war. I don't think you can argue that chess is not based on war. Most sports have some sort of application in war or training for war.

No it does not. Do you think war and violence can never be condoned? What if your family were in danger? Do you ever enjoy a good football game, or any other sport for that matter? Do you never see red?

Okay, I dare you to go up to any basketball player with an M16 and a rucksack about the same weight as the player and see what happens.

Just because it's physical fitness it doesn't imply that you're training for war. Unless you want to be called a marine everytime you run down the street.
