"Science is often what atheist firmly believe in"
Guess what, I believe in God and science.........wow, I must be a complete freak!
Sometimes you're so wrong DrPoodle it just makes me laugh. I wish you could talk to my physical chemistry lecturer about religion, he'd got it just right about the dilemma all scientists face all the way through their careers .
Discuss! (While I go and try and stop laughing)
How does you being a christian and believing in science contradict that statement?
In fact, the vast majority of atheists DO firmly believe in science. That, or the Invisible Pink Unicorn...
I've just had enough anaesthetic to knock out a horse. I'll reply when I can feel my mouth.

Sorry to throw a load of water on your fire, but I didn't actually write that. labrocca set the forum up and designed the theme, so if you have anything to say, say it to him.
As a matter of fact (and as Grog pointed out) the statement has nothing to do with Christians and being a Christian scientist does not contradict anything in it.
Oh and by the way, this isn't a close community of friends (yet) like DrPoodle.com. Please refer to me as "DrPoodle" and not "Adi" to avoid confusion.
If I have to call you DrPoodle in here I'm gonna start calling you Schnooglums in public just to humiliate you.
I just think this whole forum's a stupid idea and I wish you hadn't persuaded me to let you keep it. It doesn't invite open discussion, it's just a forum for a load of atheists to agree with themselves as opposed to the stereotypical christian forum where they all agree with themselves!
Have you already forgotten that we nealy broke up on Thursday because you insulted me/my beliefs so badly that I'm still hurting?
Oh and by that way, the logo's crap, it doesn't look anything like an atom. Go and find out about s and d orbitals and Pauli's Exculsion Principle and learn something.
The idea of this forum is sound, but you have a point about how it will work. However, there are many strands within atheism, and many beleifs. If we could get a debate going about the correct way to integrate religious fanaticism into society, or whether the anthropic principle is a valid answer to the problem of a universe that seems designed, or whether the anti-theist movement is an overreaction, any of these things would throw open a good debate, but I have a horrible feeling that these things won't come up.

Thats why we're here, Chien. We're to leave our 2 cents, hope that people have listened, then let the idea fester in their minds.
I've been trying to get the idea festering in DrPoodle's mind for 2 and a half years and look where it's got me, lol... The only thing that seems to be festering in his mind are the dead flies.
I would love to debate those things with you Grog! However, being a chemistry student I have no idea what they mean. I get this problem when my friend who does English asks me to read her essays, I never even understand the question.
Well, since there are already quite a few forums and dicussion groups meant specifically for atheists, maybe this forum should aim, like Grog says, for theist-naturalist debate? I mean, change, for instance, the name to "debate forum" or something? Otherwise it'll rather get random proselytising than honest debate from visiting theists. No offence for believers already here!

Oh, and I agree about the logo. Bohr's model doestn't even work on hydrogen

so let's at least be scientific

Seems like a civil exchange of ideas may not be what you're after, Petite chien.
