That's what I believe this country believes. Yes. I mean the whole country. The Bible tells us that Sin is directly the result of man rejecting God. Well, that kinda screws us from the get-go doesn't it? I believe that a profession of his non-existence would certainly imply that. I had an experience one day that was not only profound... it actually scared me. I wrote about it in a blog:

You can reject the idea of God but in order to reject God him/her/itself you would have to prove he/she/it exists.
Presumably if you reject God you also reject the Devil, so would they cancel each other out?
I don't think atheists sin from the "get-go" assuming you mean from birth (unless this is some weird American lingo). Every baby is born without a belief in God, so they are passive atheists. People have to be taught to believe in God, and the clever ones reject "him" later.
The Bible tells us we are born into a world of sin/sinful natures. Sin is not a direct result from people rejecting God. It is from people disobeying God's commandments.
