Full Version: God does exist

Athiest believe that all things came into existance by chance and that the universe was created by the big bang. Unfortunately energy can neither be created nor destroyed so where did it come from. The most likely answer given is it has "always existed" but unfortunately this is an avoidance to the original question which is "where did it come from".

So the next rebutle is then where did God come from. Well God id not energy he is Spirit. Prove Spirit is the next rebutle. Good question, and the answer is faith. But not blind faith but a faith as described in Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see". "Well how does that prove God exists" is the rebutle.

Without faith there is no relationship with God, end of story. But there are other ways of showing the existance of God, like truth. And truth is where I leave you.
Ok lets do this step by step.

Firstly, it's "atheist" (ei) not "athiest". You mispelt it somewhere else on the site and I'm a spelling nazi. Plus, I don't go around calling you a Chrsitian, it's disrespectful.

Secondly, atheists do not believe in gods. That doesn't imply that they automatically believe Evolution or the Big Bang. Certainly the majority of us do though. I would disagree with the use of the word "chance" though, because it is a ridiculous notion.

Quote:

As does your answer for "Where does God come from?" which would invariably be the same response. Science has no answers to where everything came from originally, and science does not need the answers since it is outside the field of the universe as we know it. Only multi-verse theorists delve into that territory. The rest of us are trying to understand more important things.

Quote:
But there are other ways of showing the existance of God, like truth. And truth is where I leave you.

That has the be the worst argument for God I have ever read. That isn't truth, that is a massive assumption. Provide evidence that your version of "truth" is actually the truth and we might get somewhere.

What do you actually now about the big bang theory? It doesn't really sound like you've done any research yourself. It seems like you're having an argument with yourself, and I can't actually figure out what point you're trying to make. What exactly do you mean by "there are other ways of showing the existance of God, like truth. And truth is where I leave you." What truth are you talking about? You've quoted scripture, is that what you're referring to?

All this is just your mythological superstitious perception of the reality around you. You believe to know for which you don't.

There is no evidence here to be seen and so your claims have been dismissed.

Even god has to be made of something. Your able to see thanks to light energy, Your heart continues to beat thanks to heat energy. We are alive thanks to energy, We are parsley made up from energy. Our brains function almost entirely on energy, We are able to move parts of our body thanks to energy. Without energy we are nothing. Just moving your eyes requires energy and now I'm told that god is not made up of energy! How can this be?

By this and this alone I can dismiss your claims just by what you mentioned about god. We are currently swimming in energy! Energy is needed to grow plantation, energy is needed for animals to evolve, grow and reproduce. Without any energy this planet would be completely frozen over! We absorb energy from the sun, so does everything in the proximity of the sun. Even god would have energy if he'd existed.

So I ask you, How can god be made of nothing? Because this god sounds more and more impossible and non-existent the more you try and defend your case.

I apologize if I assumed that ALL athiests believe in the big bang theory. It was assumed and I apologize. As for calling you an Athiest, this is what you are, an Athiest. As for myself I am a Christian and proud of it, and in no way is it disrespectful too me if called one. If I was introduced as a Christian to a group of people I would hold my head up high and would not feel slandered since this is my position on what is.
But that brings up the question of disrespect. This in no way is a slam against you as a person but are you the decider of what is disrespectful? If not where did that standard come from and where was it decided or written?
You are also correct when you said "Science has no answers to where everything came from originally" but you are avoiding further knowledge when you stop thinking at a statement such as "and science does not need the answers since it is outside the field of the universe as we know it" and "The rest of us are trying to understand more important things".
My question is what is more important than the debate of an intelligent design.
To answer your last statement about my comment about truth is isn't that what we are all seeking. Or does merely a person float through life just waiting to die. I seek truth and truth is God. You want an answer that there is truth, (by the way truth in the Bible is God, the standard of moral laws), then go murder someones wife and tell me the response. Undoubtedly he would be angry, but why would he be angry if there is no standard of right and wrong?
By the way you spelled Nazi in lower case, mispelt is not a word (I believe what you were looking for is misspelled), and Christian is spelled with two I's. And you are right with I before E except after C.
Just as there is a standard to English grammar God has a standard of laws for us to live by.
Who says God has to made of something? Then that would in fact make him made and that is not possible since He is "I am". Also if he is made then he can be unmade and that is not possible since he is the Alpha and Omega, first and the last.
By the way "I am" is his name which gives him presence in past, present future. You are also correct in saying energy has to exist or what we see would not exist. Notice I said "what we see".
But again and again the question is avoided where did the universe come from? As I said in the beginning of this thread there is NO relationship without faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. God is Spirit, not energy, and therefore is not subject to the laws of physics. Oh yeah there's a law that cant be broken, so then this entire universe is not chaos.

I had no problem with you calling me an atheist. What I had a problem with was you misspelling the word itself. It is spelt atheist (e before i).

It is disrespectful when you continually spell the word "atheist" the wrong way after having been corrected. It either shows you are fully aware that you are annoying people, or that you are just ignorant. Either way, you should spell things correctly, especially when it refers to someone. I use my example again, I wouldn't continually refer to you as a "Chrsitian" (note the spelling this time) because it isn't the correct way of spelling such a word. We can excuse the simple spelling mistakes as I did with the word misspelt (interestingly one of the most commonly misspelt words Big Grin).

My question is what is more important than the debate of an intelligent design.

I'm not avoiding further knowledge on purpose. It is impossible for science to know about things before the universe existed for the sole reason that science only operates in this universe.

Of course we are all searching for truth. My problem is your assumption that God is truth. What evidence do you have to back this up with? How do you know God exists? How do you know that such a being would tell the truth and not lie? Didn't God lie in the Garden of Eden about the apple? Is this really a God we should be trusting to know the truth?

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=nazi - Check out #2 and #3 which clearly state (often lowercase) complete with examples.

The word "misspelt" I have already covered as one of the most commonly misspelt word in the dictionary.

I did spell the word Christian with two I's, I merely switched two of the letters around as you had done in the word atheist. We could spend all day going over spelling errors but it is a futile exercise.

I have no idea what you are talking about when you refer to God lying in the Garden of Eden. There is no where in the Bible where at all God lied, period. If you know of a place I am open ears, other than that it is just assumptions.
Secondly you said I disrespected you, my understanding of what I disrespected you on was wrong but does not change the fact that you say I disrespected you. I am interested to your answer to my question about disrespect and when it became wrong? Is there an authority governing moral laws? Are you that authority or is there something or someone else governing it? How do I find out about what those laws are so I don't offend you?
The basis that I have to back up God is truth is His word found in the Bible. It is completely one hundred percent inerrant and has yet to be disproved. It was also written by over 40 authors, spanning a period of over 1600 years and yet again no errors. You cant get 2 yet 3 people to agree on one thing these days yet alone over 40 spanning 1600 years. Also the men that walked with Jesus went to death on the testimony of Christ. Do you know anyone who would go to death for what they knew wasn't true. I don't and I don't think you ever will. True there are people who will kill themselves for what they believe is truth, but non who will die for what is false. What more proof do you want?
The Bible since the first stroke was made was to point us to the need of a savior. We cannot keep Gods commandments and God knew this when he gave them. They were not given because he thought we could follow them but to show us it was IMPOSSIBLE to live a life of perfection which is a requirement of being saved. There was a debt and it needed to be paid.
God's lie:

Genesis 3:2
The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "

Eve touched and ate the fruit and didn't die. In fact it was the snake who was telling the truth all along.

"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

Whether you want to take that as a white lie is fine by me, but it is still a lie.

Quote:
Is there an authority governing moral laws?

Yeah, its called society. Morals are determined by the majority, and since it is considered disrespectful to call people things they are not, I felt you were being disrespectful.

Quote:
It is completely one hundred percent inerrant and has yet to be disproved.

Evolution pretty much destroys everything written in Genesis about how the animals got here and the myth about Noah's ark. If you want to read more, I suggest you take a look here. It's a pretty long list...

Quote:
Do you know anyone who would go to death for what they knew wasn't true.

I won't mention the 1600 year thing because as I have shown above, there are hundreds if not thousands of errors in the Bible. As for the above quote, why do you assume they would know it wasn't true? People have been known to go to death believing absolutely ridiculous things. Look at fundamentalist Islam! They blow themselves up because they reckon they will get into Heaven. It's all a lie of course, but they believe it. People don't die for false things I agree, but if they thought the Bible was true all along then they could very well have been fundamental about it.

Quote:
it was IMPOSSIBLE to live a life of perfection which is a requirement of being saved

There we go then, if it is impossible I have nothing to worry about. My fate will be the same as yours. When we die, we will rot in the soil and nothing out of the ordinary will happen.

'Genesis 3:2
The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "'

Sorry about this, but as you may no by know, the first 3 chapters of Genesis are my pet area. It was Adam who said the above line, he added you must not touch it bit on to Gods original command, which mearly stated to eat from the tree was death. Eve did die, albit 900 or so years after eating the fruit, but God did not say she would die directly afterwards. No lie, sorry.
